whats-included

Quiet, Personal Farewell (Optional: £600)

Families who want a calm, meaningful goodbye can add an Intimate Attended Direct Cremation — up to 17 guests, guided by our funeral director, just as at a crematorium service.

This option keeps the simplicity of direct cremation, while giving you a full, guided funeral service in our chapel beforehand.

In our private Chapel of Rest, you can spend as much time as you need saying farewell. This option allows a personal ceremony with music, slideshow, and service sheets, giving you the chance to honour your loved one in a warm, private setting.

  • Up to 17 guests: Family and close friends can gather in comfort.

  • Flexible timing: No strict time limit — take the hour you need.

  • Customisable: Choose your music, slideshow, and service sheets.

  • Supportive guidance: Led by our experienced funeral director, helping you create a meaningful ceremony.

All extras are optional, clearly priced, and designed to make your farewell personal without any pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I visit my loved one before the cremation?
Yes. Families can visit our Chapel of Rest at times that suit them — there’s no limit on visits, so you can spend as much time as you need.

2. Can I include personal items or keepsakes?
Absolutely. Photos, letters, and small meaningful items can be placed with your loved one for a personal touch.

3. How quickly will ashes be returned?
Ashes are usually returned within 7 days. We can arrange collection, delivery, or scattering at the crematorium — whichever you prefer.

4. Can I choose which crematorium is used?
Yes, for an additional fee. We’ll advise you on suitable crematoria within Sussex and handle all arrangements on your behalf.

5. What does “unattended” mean?
Direct cremation happens without a formal ceremony at the crematorium. If you’d like, you can also add a Quiet, Personal Farewell in our chapel for family and close friends.

6. Can I have music played or a slideshow?
Yes. Music and photo slideshows can be included during an optional intimate farewell in our chapel. These extras are fully optional and priced clearly.

7. How do I arrange a direct cremation?
Simply call or email our funeral directors. We guide you through every step, handle all paperwork, and make the process as simple as possible.
