We’re humbled by the trust families place in us — and by the kind words they share afterwards.
Many families come to us through personal recommendation.
Over the years, that consistent care has also been recognised by independent organisations.
Awards have never been our goal — supporting families with dignity and calm reassurance has.
Recognition simply reflects the standards we quietly uphold every day.

Recognition from Families
Since 2004, we have supported thousands of families across Worthing and West Sussex.
Today, we are proud to have:
-
350+ five-star reviews
-
A consistent 5.0/5.0 rating
-
Generations of local families returning to us
Most nominations for national awards have come directly from the families we have served — which makes that recognition especially meaningful.
Because the greatest endorsement is trust — and that trust is earned in moments that matter most.
The Good Funeral Awards
The Good Funeral Awards are often described as the “Oscars of the funeral profession,” celebrating excellence across the UK funeral sector.
They are organised by the the Association of Green Funeral Directors (AGFD).
Nominations are submitted by families and professionals.
Winners are chosen by an independent judging panel.
The awards are widely regarded within the profession as a benchmark of ethical standards, innovation and compassionate care.

2025 – National Winner
Funeral Arranger of the Year
At the 2025 ceremony, held at the National Space Centre in Leicester, our own Rebecca Doherty was named Funeral Arranger of the Year — one of the leading individual honours within the UK funeral profession.
This award is particularly meaningful because Rebecca was nominated by the families she supported.
It reflects sensitivity, organisation, empathy, and calm guidance at one of life’s most difficult moments.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to receive this award—especially as I was personally nominated by the families I’ve had the privilege to support.
It means so much to know that the care we give has helped at such a difficult time.”
— Rebecca Doherty
Although the award carries Rebecca’s name, it represents the compassion and professionalism of our entire team.
2019 – National Winner
Low Cost Funeral Provider of the Year
In 2019, Rounce Funeral Services was named National Winner for Low Cost Funeral Provider of the Year at the Good Funeral Awards.
The award recognised our commitment to transparent pricing, ethical practice, and dignified care without compromise.
Nominations were submitted by families and assessed by an independent judging panel, making the recognition especially meaningful.
Although the award was presented to the firm, it reflected the dedication and professionalism of our entire team — and, most importantly, the trust of the families we serve.

Previous National Recognition
Our journey with the Good Funeral Awards began in 2017 and has also included:
-
2017 – Finalist: Low Cost Funeral Provider of the Year
-
2018 – National Nominee: Low Cost Funeral Provider of the Year
-
2019 – Finalist: Best Information Provider of the Year
Each recognition has been based on independent judging and nominations from families or industry peers.
While we are proud of these honours, they are not what drives us.
They simply affirm the standards we aim to uphold every day.

-
The details handled without families needing to ask
Recognition is appreciated.
