Being a funeral director is about far more than arranging services.
It’s about trust, dignity, and doing things properly — especially when families are at their most vulnerable.
At Rounce Funeral Services, we are a small, independent family firm in Worthing, supporting local families since 2004. We believe funeral care should feel personal, transparent, and unhurried — never pressured, never transactional, never impersonal.
A Small, Independent Family Firm — Since 2004
Rounce Funeral Services was founded with a simple belief:
Families deserve personal care from experienced professionals they can trust.
We are not part of a national chain.
We do not use call centres.
We do not pass families between departments.
When you contact us, you speak directly to an experienced Funeral Director — and the same people will guide you from your first call through to the day of the funeral and beyond.
For many families, that continuity brings reassurance at a time when everything else feels uncertain.
We live and work in the community we serve — and our reputation matters deeply to us.
How We Work — Our Approach to Care
Funeral care should feel steady, respectful, and clear.
Our approach is simple:
-
We listen before we advise
-
We explain clearly, without jargon
-
We give families time and space
-
We never rush decisions
-
We treat every person in our care as we would our own family
We are fully transparent about costs, options, and what is — and isn’t — included, so you can make informed choices in your own time.
There is no “right way” to arrange a funeral.
There is only what feels right for you and your family.
If you’re unsure what happens next, our step-by-step guide explains what to expect.

Professional Standards & Regulation
Families often ask how they can be sure a funeral director is properly regulated.
We believe reassurance should be clear — not hidden.
Rounce Funeral Services is:
-
Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
-
A member of the Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF)
-
Committed to ethical practice, transparent pricing, and professional accountability
Membership of SAIF means we follow a strict Code of Practice covering care of the deceased, service standards, transparency, and respect for families.
These safeguards exist to protect you — and to ensure every funeral is handled with dignity, integrity, and professionalism.
Trusted by Families
Since 2004, we have supported thousands of families across Worthing and West Sussex.
We are humbled by the trust placed in us — and by the kind words families share afterwards.
-
More than 350 families have taken the time to leave a five-star review.
-
We remain consistently rated 5.0 out of 5.
-
Independent organisations have also recognised our commitment to high standards and compassionate care.
Awards are never our focus.
Quiet, consistent care is.

Our Premises & Chapel of Rest
Our Worthing premises have been designed to feel calm, private, and unhurried.
Families can meet with us in a comfortable arrangement room, ask questions at their own pace, and talk things through without pressure.
Our private Chapel of Rest allows families to spend time with their loved one in a peaceful setting.
We also offer the option of a small, intimate farewell with music, readings, and visual tributes for up to 17 family and friends.
It provides a meaningful moment of goodbye away from the formality of a large crematorium service.
Supporting Families Across West Sussex
We proudly support families in Worthing and surrounding areas, including Broadwater, Goring-by-Sea, Durrington, Findon, Littlehampton, Lancing, Shoreham-by-Sea and beyond.
Whether you are arranging a service locally or at a crematorium further afield, we provide calm, practical guidance every step of the way.

Here for You — At Your Pace
You do not need to have all the answers.
Whether you are ready to begin making arrangements, have questions you’re unsure how to ask, or simply need reassurance, we are here to help — gently, honestly, and without obligation.
If you would like to talk things through, we’re here.
No obligation. Just calm, supportive advice — at your pace.
